Teams confirmed for 2022/23
For the coming season we will be running three teams. On Saturdays we'll have two open-age adult men's teams playing, one with a focus on younger players. On Sundays it's the exact opposite as our Veterans will take to the field. We'll announce fixtures on our website and on the This is Welford Facebook group as and when they are confirmed by the leagues in which we play. Admission is, of course, free (as if anyone would pay to watch us) but to raise funds we'll be looking to sell refreshments from the clubhouse.
Please stop moving the goalposts
Our portable goalposts have become damaged as a result of people moving them incorrectly from the side of the pitch where they live during the summer (so as not to impose upon the cricket or rounders pitches). This unfortunately means we need to remind people that they are not provided for use outside of supervised club activities and, as such, would like to ask anyone up there to please refrain from moving them. Thank you.
Wednesday night is football night
All are welcome to come and join our 'training' sessions on Wednesday nights. At about 6:30 we run games and drills for Under 9s, with differentiated sessions for younger children. From 7:30 the Veterans take over, but all ages are welcome at their small-sided games. They play until it gets dark or until one of them breaks; whichever happens first. If you want to get involved, head to www.welfordvictoria.com/join-us and get in touch!
We are actively planning to offer Walking Football in the not-too-distant future. If you think you might be interested in this, please email info@welfordvictoria.com and we'll be sure to tell you when it starts up.

Welford Victoria Football Club was founded in 1898 and is an FA Charter Standard Club situated in the village of Welford and affiliated to the Northamptonshire FA. Over the years, the club has had a variety of different teams across the ages, from Mini and Junior teams, through to adults and Veterans. Currently the club consists of a Saturday Adult team, Sunday Adult team, Veterans Sunday team, an Under 16s team and an Under 8s squad. We are fortunate to have great facilities in a fantastic village setting and we love welcoming new players and visiting teams to our home just off Newlands Road.
Each of our teams has its own identity, but we all support each other and work together to make this a great place to play. Throughout the club we live and promote values of inclusion, teamwork, respect and support. We all have different reasons for playing and loving the game, and whatever you hope to get out of football, there's a place for you at Welford Victoria.
